Biofertilizer:

What is Biofertilizer?

Biofertilizer is a type of fertilizer that contains living microorganisms, such as bacteria, fungi, or algae, which can enhance soil fertility and plant growth by fixing atmospheric nitrogen, solubilizing phosphorus, or producing growth-promoting substances.

Compost Bins Used:

The Compost bins are  also known as bioreactors are used to cultivate specific strains of beneficial microorganisms under controlled conditions. These bins are typically designed to provide an environment suitable for the growth and activity of the selected microbes, including temperature, pH, oxygen levels, and nutrient availability. The bins can range in size from small-scale setups for household or community use to large-scale industrial operations for commercial production.

Uses Of  Biofertilizer:

               Biofertilizers have several uses, including:

1.Enhancing soil fertility

2.Improving plant growth

3.Reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers

4.Promoting sustainable agriculture

5.Rehabilitating degraded soils

After the visit, Students learnt how to regenerate the waste products and reuse resources  for the future generation.
